 Background:
The WEC Cambodia Tailor Apprenticeship Workshop has on its heart the transfer of trade skills and knowledge as well as life skills along with discipleship of young disadvantaged people in a reality setting. This ministry is currently done by three Cambodian Christian ladies who are committed to do it out of their own initiative with the aim of financial independency. However their skills and know-how is still in need of development. In February 2009 they would like to take in the first two apprentices.
Main task
Training the trainer/owner and workers – need lots of patience and understanding of their background.
Expectations
1.Professionally
- Evaluate and give helpful recommendations to improve on the efficiency of the sewing techniques and production methods
- Teach and train the sewing workers who already have basic tailoring skills to:
Achieve a higher level of skills in pattern drafting, fabric cutting and sewing, pattern fitting and finishes as well as pattern alteration
Design clothes for special occasions such as for weddings, evening wear, women work dresses etc., transfer the design on to suitable fabrics and complete the tailoring to a good fit fort he customer within the given time frame
- Mentor them to develop good customer service and business sense
2.Spiritually
- Be an example in love, faith and hope through one’s lifestyle
- Disciple them through good work ethics
- Integrity at work

Kosten: ca. 450 Fr. pro Monat für Verpflegung und Unterkunft
