Contribution to Strategy:

SIM in Bangladesh has an official identity as an International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). We utilize this NGO identity to operate a wide variety of projects and staff these projects with expatriate long term personnel. In our fast-changing WWW world, there is an unlimited number of ways that we could be more effective in our various ministries with a little help in the digital communication world. This position will help us to be more effective communicators in the digital age.

Ministry: SP- Computer Technician

Responsibilities:

The job is to come and help us long term analog workers to be more effective in this digital age. There is a public website for SIM International and each of the nine sending offices of SIM. For each of these sites there is the need to communicate more fully concerning the wide variety of work that SIM Bangladesh is doing. In addition, there is a more private SIM Intranet site where there is the opportunity to post more details and information and reports about all that God is doing in Bangladesh. For someone with writing skills or interest, there will be the opportunity to write and develop some of the reports. For those who are more focused on the technical side, there is the need to post exisiting reports, both personnel and project, to a number of sites and locations. Each long term worker in SIM now has the opportunity to post his/her own personal information on a link on the SIM website. Individual workers would like help with this. For those with experience in social networking sites such as Facebook or experience in website design and development, there is the need to help us establish and update the status of SIM Bangladesh, both projects and personnel, in the digital world.

Ministry 2: SU- Computer Programming

Other Ministry Possibilities: For someone coming to Bangladesh for 2 weeks to 2 months, the job description we have outlined in this PRF will be more than enough to keep you quite busy and ready for a tea break at the end of the day. Bengali people are quite friendly and hospitable, so there would be ample opportunity to mix with and get to know as many local people as your time and interest allows. Even with no Bengali language ability you will have as much opportunity as you like to get to know and share with local people your own spiritual story and spiritual relationships.
