Contribution to Strategy:

The vision of SIM Ghana is that "By faith we see true followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, united in a mature Church that values people and God’s creation. We see these believers impacting and transforming society in Ghana and beyond for the glory of God." Over 40% of Ghana's population is considered to be youth, and among the males, sports, particularly football (soccer) is passionately played and followed by many. Sports is a powerful tool/bridge to build lasting relationships with youth and their family members. We envision hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Ghanian sports ministers/coaches becoming great 'life influencers' to multitudes of youth looking for purpose and hope. The SF Organizational Leader will focus on administration, management, finances, leadership development, partnership negotiation, communications, and other organizational leadership issues.

Responsibilities: Working with the SF Ministry Development Leader, you will provide leadership for the development of effective sports ministry programs in Ghana. Your focus will be on vision casting, training, mobilization, and church-centered sports ministry model development. You would work closely with Ghanaian church denominations and church-planting movements to see sustainable, Ghanaian-led sports ministry programs developed and help support and develop other Sports Friends ministry leaders in Ghana. The SF Organizational Leader's primary focus will be on administration, management, finances, leadership development, partnership negotiation, communications and other organizational leadership issues.

Other Ministry Possibilities: To be determined based on gifting and availability.

Future Plans: This position is planned to phase out, in time, when a Ghanaian leader is fully trained and ready to take over this role. It is expected that the Sports Friends team in Ghana will consist of both missionary and local Ghanaian sports ministry leaders.
