Bethesda - a ministry of OM in Zambia amongst people with special needs - exists to bring hope, empowerment and transformation to the lives of those who are often stigmatised and left out in society.

We are in great need of an experienced physiotherapist to work with the children in the Bethesda school and in the local community.

As a qualified physiotherapist your responsibilities would include:

-Assessing and treating mainly children, but also some adults, in the community.

-Planning exercise/therapy programmes for children in the school and training staff members on how to facilitate these programmes with the children.

-Planning and presenting training sessions to team members and parents of the school children, on disability issues and developmental skills.

-Visiting children in their homes in the community when physiotherapy is required.

-Recommending children for possible surgery and coordinating getting them to assessments, surgery, and any review appointments as well as overseing any after-care required.

-Assisting in the organisation of Community Disability Days to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of disability in the community.

-Attending staff meetings.

-Working "on ground level" with teachers.

Please note that it is a requirement that anyone joining OM Zambia should participate in a Discipleship Course prior to taking up the desired opportunity
