Contribution to Strategy: Bamako is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. The church is not strategically equipped to handle this growth challenge which requires contextualized biblical teaching that responds to the growing spiritual, social, emotional, and physical needs of young adults, youth, and children in and outside the church. SIM's purpose is to plant, strengthen, and partner with churches around the world by equipping the Church to fulfill the Great Commission. In so doing, one greatly increases the maturity of believers, builds church leadership capacity, and positively impacts society's moral environ.

Ministry: CC- Christian Education Programs/Materials

Responsibilities: You would study the culture and build relationships. You would meet with various denominations, engaging in worship with them to assess specific need, and you would develop programmes and materials for young adults, youth, and children that are culturally relevant and timely. Opportunity exists to work in partnership with other mission agencies and AGEMPEM (the governing body of churches and mission agencies).

Future Plans: If an expatriate missionary is required to fill this position, what plans are there for a national to be trained and developed to take over this role in the future? Our vision is to model, assist, watch, and turn over.

First degree required.

Required training: Basic training in cross-cultural relationships. Basic understanding of Islam and folk Islam.

Recommended Experience: Experience in writing curriculum and teaching.

Personality Issues/ Cultural Considerations:: Good people skills, initiative, and leadership ability.
