Qualifications:

Professional License: Accountancy, Bookkeeping

First degree required.

Required training: Professional Accounting Designation (e.g. CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA) would be recommended.

Recommended Experience: Bookkeeping or financial management.

Personality Issues/ Cultural Considerations: Generally, sensitivity to cultural differences, ability to adjust expectations and be flexible, "teachability" and willingness to learn from others. Specifically, ability to listen and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Also a willingness to work in a simple work environment.

Position Information

Contribution to Strategy: SIM Niger’s 100+ missionaries serve in a wide variety of ministries in numerous locations across the country. The purpose of SIM Niger is to glorify God by planting, strengthening, and partnering with the Church in Niger. Galmi hospital is one of the few places in this Muslim country where people have the chance to hear the Gospel and receive adequate medical care. Thus, the ministry of Galmi Hospital provides an open door to demonstrate the love of Christ in both word and deed. This role contributes directly to the smooth operation of the hospital.

Ministry: HA- Health Care Administration

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities of this position include: 1. Supervise the financial transactions of the hospital and of the mission compound. 2. Assist in the preparation of budgets and ensure their implementation. 3. Evaluate regular revenue and expenditures of the hospital. 4. Supervise the payroll clerk, the cashiers, and others dealing with finances. 5. Maintain a record of transactions on project accounts. 6. Balance the hospital books. 7. Maintain regular contact with the SIM Treasurer in Niamey. 8. Provide the hospital Director with regular reports and information on the financial situation of the hospital.

Ministry 2: MF- Fundraising/Stewardship

Other Ministry Possibilities: Friendship evangelism, literacy, discipleship, Bible teaching, youth work, and church involvement are a few examples. We encourage reaching out to our M*m neighbors and discipling those we work with through building personal relationships.
