International Chief Communications Officer
Primary Objective of the Role:
The Chief Communications Officer (CCO) will develop trusting and resourceful relationships with communications officers and roles across our teams and offices. These relationships are central to promoting Interserve to grow as a community and share the stories God has given us within the Fellowship and with the Christian public.[nbsp]The CCO initiates and facilitates processes with the intention to stimulate best practices, clarity of communication theory, and emerging resources. The CCO should be a channel for cross-organisational learning and understanding around messaging and branding. These are largely influenced by participating in the discernment of current missiological trends with Fellowship leaders. The role is dependent upon effective working relationships with international functional and regional roles, and with related roles in Country Teams and National Offices.[nbsp]The International Communications Team serves the Fellowship by building commonly owned values, messages and perspectives related to who we are, what we do, how we work and of the stories that God has created in and through Interserve. This involves communication of desired outcomes from policies, guidelines that express expectations and best practices. Working with the IO staff, the DO, the ILT, and other International Resource roles, the Communications Team promotes the implementation of policies and practices across the Fellowship that aid in the effective exchange of information and knowledge.
Scope of Role:

In doing so, the CCO will develop plans for initiatives resource collaboration with entities across the Fellowship, and to enable greater collaboration between entities.[nbsp]The CCO will advise and consult on critical incidents and core communications needs, and on international communications projects and processes. The CCO is responsible for resource procurement, deployment and management for communications initiatives in consultation with the DO for the International Office; and is a resource for leadership teams at each entity.[nbsp]
This role is anticipated to be a virtual role, however travel to gatherings, international meetings or specific entity engagement may occur from time to time, and according the CCO approved ministry plan. Being a virtual role, it is not anticipated that the CCO will be based at the IO. However, it is anticipated that the CCO will visit the IO regularly (annually at minimum) for several days. We also anticipate a longer initial visit in order for the CCO to gain familiarity with the culture and dynamics of the IO.
Key relationships for this role include:
International –
o Relate to and advise a range of roles that promote internal[nbsp]communication for the entire Fellowship.
o Effectively use media and technology for communicating with identified audiences.

Country Teams –

o Improve communications within the fellowship.
The CCO will need to manage these relationships in a distance/virtua environment and therefore must be able to effectively build trusting relationships over virtual media.
Performance Measurement:
The CCO will coordinate with the DO and other central roles associated with the International Office, the International Leadership Team, and/or Link Coordination to plan a range of interactions and engagements across the Fellowship, as well as means to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of these interactions.
Remuneration Package:

The CCO should work with the sending entity to arrange for any financial resource needs and anticipate the need to raise their own financial support based on needs. The International Office provides financial resources required for performing the role described here. This will include approved travel and accommodations, event fees, subscriptions to services including internet communications protocols and services.
