The Good News Hospital is located in the north of Madagascar, in Mandritsara. It is the only well-equipped hospital within a radius of over 200 kilometres and comprises the medical ward, surgery, maternity and eye clinic. We are urgently looking for

A doctor in internal medicine or similar, available immediately or by arrangement. The minimum duration of the assignment depends on your experience and is at least two months.

Wanted profile:

- Specialist or assistant doctor (from year 4 of residency) in internal medicine or similar

- Knowledge of written and spoken French and English, approx. level B1 or higher

- Work experience in a similar environment an advantage but not mandatory

- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and membership of a church

- Enjoy getting to know other people and cultures

What you can expect

You will work in an international team of Malagasy and foreign doctors. You will see patients during consultation hours and care for them on the medical ward and in the newly built maternity centre. You finance your work yourself, e.g. through fundraising or a circle of friends. You live on a well-maintained compound, where the hospital is also located. You can organise your free time as you wish; for example with hikes, bike tours, visits to Malagasy villages, excursions to Mandritsara, games evenings... We cultivate an active team life and would be delighted if you were part of it.

Wir suchen dringend

Eine Ärztin / einen Arzt Innere Medizin oder ähnliches, verfügbar ab sofort oder nach Vereinbarung. Die Mindestdauer des Einsatzes hängt von deiner Erfahrung ab und beträgt mindestens zwei Monate.

Gesuchtes Profil:

• Facharzt oder Assistenzarzt (ab Jahr 4 der Assistenzzeit) Innere Medizin oder ähnliches

• Französisch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift, ca. ab Niveau B1

• Arbeitserfahrung in einem ähnlichen Umfeld von Vorteil aber nicht Pflicht

• Persönliche Beziehung zu Jesus Christus und Zugehörigkeit zu einer Kirche

• Freude am Kennenlernen anderer Menschen und Kulturen

Das erwartet dich

Du arbeitest in einem internationalen Team aus madagassischen und ausländischen Ärztinnen und Ärzten. Ihr seht Patientinnen und Patienten in der Sprechstunde und betreut sie auf der medizinischen Station und der neu gebauten Maternité. Deinen Einsatz finanzierst du selbst, z.B. durch Fundraising oder einen Freundeskreis. Du wohnst auf einem gepflegten Compound, auf dem sich auch das Krankenhaus befindet. Deine Freizeit kannst du frei gestalten; zum Beispiel mit Wanderungen, Velotouren, Besuch von madagassischen Dörfern, Ausflug nach Mandritsara, Spieleabenden... Wir pflegen ein aktives Teamleben und freuen uns, wenn du Teil davon bist.
