Facilitating Evangelism Among the Dendi People (PRF 8874)

Responsibilities:

The ministry of evangelism and church planting or being a facilitator for them among the Dendi may look a bit different for each person, depending on gifting, abilities, and preferences, but it would probably involve some or all of the following: - initial research into the Dendi of Benin, their population centers, current ministry among the Dendi, etc., using this information to decide where you would live and what your ministry might look like - language and cultural learning - researching and adapting methods of reaching this people group - encouraging and partnering with evangelists already involved in this ministry. They often feel alone in their efforts. - continuously training - initiating activities ("platforms") that would generate contacts, meaningful relationships, and constructive insertions within the local population; helping the Beninois evangelists to do the same. (Examples would be health care, agriculture projects, micro-finance, small business projects, computer training, teaching French or English, children and youth activities, sports, films, etc.) - literacy, translating literature, the Bible, etc. - encouraging and training the local evangelists and Christians in discipleship methods for the new Dendi believers, assisting them in forming cell groups and churches, training leaders, etc.
