Medical Doctor -- Physician, Family Doctor, Generalist (PRF#9449)
The Good News Hospital in Mandritsara has a vision to reach those living and dying without having heard of the saving love of Jesus with the Gospel. The Doctor will be part of a wider hospital team with the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to both inpatients and outpatients both actively and in demonstration of a Christ-like life.
Ministry: HM- Physician, Various Specialties
Responsibilities: The work would involve seeing and treating patients, both in outpatients and inpatients. This would include both work of a General Practitioner nature and also as a ward doctor – and would include out of hours duties (on calls, weekend and night) and the ability to perform investigative procedures – such as lumbar punctures, chest drains etc.
There would also be a role in medical education, both with Malagasy doctors, visiting medical students and in the nurse training school.
Other Ministry Possibilities: There is opportunity to be involved in other ministries of the Friends of Mandritsara Project, the wider Hospital staff, the expatriate team at the Hospital compound and in churches in the town of Mandritsara and in the surrounding villages -both in preaching and encouraging.
