Apotheker (Pharmacist PRF 5161)

Contribution to Strategy:

Effective management of the pharmacy contributes significantly to the smooth functioning of the entire hospital, one of the few places in northern Bénin where people can receive good medical care and an introduction to the Gospel. Services at Bembereke Hospital include an outpatient department, an operating block with a sterile supplies department, an AIDS clinic, an ophthalmic clinic, a physiotherapy department, a pharmacy, a laboratory, an X-ray department, a teaching department, an administrative block, and a workshop. Its staff is vital to maintaining the hospital's service of compassion, through which many people learn of the love of God. The staff consists of more then 180 Beninese and 2 expatriate missionaries from Europe. Among the Beninese staff are several full time evangelists. At the back of the hospital is a compound with 17 houses for both missionaries and Beninese administrative staff. A guest house exists for short-term visitors. HEB is administrated by a Beninese director, medical chief, and nursing supervisor.
