Contribution to Strategy:

SIM Bolivia is commited to caring for its missionaries. We seek a mature person/couple with a servant heart who can provide support and encouragement for missionaries coming to the guest house as well as a comfortable, stress free place to stay when they come into the city to rest and or do business. We feel this ministry is vital to help support our missionaries serving throughout the country.

Ministry: PP- Member Care

Responsibilities: This ministry of Guest House Manager is primarly a support role which involves serving missionaries, teams and visitors that come to the guest house. The job of the Guest House Manager is to provide a clean, safe home where one can relax, be refreshed and encouraged. The Guest House Manager would also provide a pastoral role of listening and encouragement when needed. The Guest House Manager would also assist in helping provide information that may be needed or direct them to someone that could assist them in finding what they need.

Ministry 2: PG- Guest House Management

Other Ministry Possibilities: There would be opportunities for ministry according to the missionary's gifts and interests. There would be opportunities to serve in their local church and other SIM projects.

Required training: Computer skills in Word and Excel. A desire to minister to missionaries and their families.

Personality Issues/ Cultural Considerations:: We need someone with a servant heart who is willing to serve the needs of others with a calm, not easily stressed temperament, who can handle unexpected changes at minimal notice, someone who enjoys children and is not stressed by their noise or disorder. Also, an awareness that missionaries using the guest house may come from many different country than the host/hostesses, who would need to be sensitive to that person's or family's needs and stresses. A willingness to submit to the specific cultural guidelines set out in the Bolivia Handbook, especially regarding drinking, use of tobacco, and relationships with members of the opposite sex.
