Papua New-Guinea (PNG) is a country with a huge need of Bible translation. However, if a key person is lacking in the finance department, all other staff could potentially be hindered in their work. Therefore we are looking for an experienced

Senior Accountant

Main Responsibilities:

• Accounting related to fixed assets and local value-added tax

• Higher-level reconciliations and adjustments

• Review of transactions for appropriate accounting and sufficient documentation

• Authorization of bank payments after appropriate review

• Changes to the chart of accounts

• Assisting finance department and regional book keepers

• Training and advising Finance office bookkeeping and clerical staff

• Prepare accounting reports and analysis as required by leadership

Special skills needed

• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ

• A church that stands behind you

• Team-mindset, resilience and ability to work without close supervision

• General Accounting experience plus industry experience as accountant or auditor strongly preferred

• Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Organized, methodical and responsible work habits

• (Desirable) Experience working in a cross-cultural context.
