School Principal PRF 8655 (Please mention PRF Nr. if interested)
Contribution to Strategy:
Education; bridge-building to the local majority community; supporting the Marwari Church Planting Project by providing education for disadvantaged Marwari children.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the oversight and management of a small, local Christian school founded approximately 40 years ago by a Punjabi Christian lady. The school currently has eleven teachers covering nursery to class 9 (extending to 10) and two ancillary staff. The Principal is an honourary member of the school governing body composed of PCF (SIM-related church) members and one missionary representative.
Other Ministry Possibilities: Discipleship and outreach.
Future Plans: The missionary who fills this position would provide a role model, as well as more formal training, for a suitably gifted Pakistani person who would eventually replace him/her as Principal.
First degree required.
Required training: Relevant profession: Secondary school teacher, administration etc..
Recommended Experience: Managerial experience in a school setting.
Personality Issues/ Cultural Considerations:: Should be able work in multi-cultural setting and be sensitive to local cultural norms.
Note: Preparation takes approx. 6 months
