Teacher for Galmi Day school

Responsibilities of the Elementary Teacher:

• Provide quality, Christian education to MK’s in families serving at Galmi

• Teach a wide variety of subjects (math, writing, reading, social studies, science, learning skills, Bible, critical thinking, and physical education) in a one-room style setting. Ideally we have two teachers at a time

• Oversee curriculum choice and development

• Supervise student progression from year-to-year

• Provide educational resources to students with varied instructional needs and learning differences

• Integrate a Christian worldview into the subject matter

• Adapt to the variable number of students throughout the school year and from year to year

• Ensure the maintenance of the school building and resources

• Guide and interface with other teachers or aides in the classroom

• Contribute to the healthy functioning of the Galmi team and the wider SIM Niger team by occasionally performing tasks not directly related to the duties of the Elementary Teacher. Some of these tasks may be one-off tasks while others may require a commitment of a year or two on a part-time basis.
